Multi-Factor Authentication Coming Soon

Starting June 29, multi-factor authentication, also known as MFA, will be added to the portal login process.

MFA helps protect your account by requiring a verification code in addition to your normal username and password.

What will change?

You will continue logging in from the same login page using the same username and password you use today.

The first time you log in after MFA is enabled, you will be guided through a one-time setup process.

First-time MFA setup

After entering your normal login credentials, you will be redirected to an MFA setup page.

On that page, you will see instructions and a QR code.

To complete setup:

  1. Open the authenticator app of your choice, such as Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, or a similar app.
  2. Add a new account in the authenticator app.
  3. Scan the QR code shown on the MFA setup page.
  4. The authenticator app will begin showing a temporary verification code.
  5. Enter that verification code into the box on the MFA setup page.
  6. Submit the code to complete setup.

Once your code is verified, MFA setup is complete.

Backup codes

After setup is complete, you will be shown 10 one-time-use backup codes.

These codes can be used if you are unable to access your authenticator app.

Please save these codes in a secure location. You can either:

Each backup code can only be used once.

After you save your backup codes, you will continue into the portal.

Future logins

After MFA has been set up, future logins will work like this:

  1. Go to the same login page you use today.
  2. Enter your normal username and password.
  3. You will be redirected to an MFA verification page.
  4. Open your authenticator app.
  5. Enter the current verification code shown in the app.
  6. Continue into the portal.

Remember this device for 30 days

On the MFA verification page, you may see an option to Remember this device for 30 days.

If you select this option, you will not need to enter an MFA verification code again on that device for 30 days.

You should only use this option on a trusted device, such as your own work computer. Do not use this option on shared or public computers.
